Experience PeaceLove! We offer a wide variety of expressive arts courses at our studio in Pawtucket, RI. Our classes and workshops are open to everyone of any age or ability. The only skills required are the willingness to explore new things, interest in meeting people and the desire to Create Peace of Mind™. Resolve to add creativity to your life and join us today!

Drop-in Rate – $8 per workshop per person; Studio Card – $25 for 5 workshops Individual Membership – $35 per month; Family Membership – $65 per month *Discounts available for memberships paid in full for the year.

All art supplies are provided unless otherwise indicated. Participants are always welcome to bring their own materials. Participation is on a first come first serve basis. Workshops will be considered full at the discretion of the instructor. Groups of 5 people or less are welcome to attend without calling ahead. Groups of more than 5 should call ahead for reservations.

Visual Journaling
Wednesdays 6-8pm
This guided process of journaling uses color, imagery and texture as the primary tool for communication and recovery instead of the written word. Learn how developing creative habits in your daily life can help with emotional expression, learning self awareness, overcoming challenges and transforming negative experiences. You are encouraged to bring your own journal or a selection of loose paper will be available. Each workshop will focus on a different theme based on the participants. (Cancelled on the 2nd Wednesday of each month for the PeaceLove Volunteer Meeting.)

Artlets
Friday, March 2nd and 30th, 1-3pm
Learn how to use Art as an outlet for emotions! Every workshop is an expressive arts experience designed to help you explore issues of self, healing and feelings through creative outlets. Each workshop will focus on a different theme and will introduce new techniques and materials.

Mandala Art
Friday, March 9th, 1-3pm
Mandala is the Sanskrit word meaning “circle.” Often used as a practice in meditation, mandalas are a visual art form which allows us to explore the self through the centering nature of circles. Learn about mandalas in other cultures, different techniques for creating them and how you can use them in your daily life for focusing attention, creating sacred space, developing personal wholeness and finding emotional healing.

Hum 'n Stir
Friday, March 16th, 1-3pm
Healing and self expression comes not just through visual arts but also through sound making and movement. Discover the power of your voice, music makers, body movement and dancing as you explore the wonders of expressive arts on a multi-modal level.

Drawing 101
Friday, March 23rd, 1-3pm
Even in expressive arts people often say, “I wish I knew how to draw that.” This workshop teaches the basic concepts of drawing to individuals who would like to access these skills in their own creative endeavors. Participants will be introduced to traditional drawing materials, techniques and projects. This is NOT an expressive arts workshop but rather a skill based class.

Family Art
Saturdays 10am-12pm
Though everyone is welcome to all PeaceLove workshops, this workshop is designed specifically for families with children. This is a great opportunity for siblings and parents to work together creatively on fun projects.

Community sARTurdays
Saturdays 12-2pm
Each sARTurday features a guided arts & crafts activity led by PeaceLove Volunteers. sARTurdays are about supporting each other in the practice of creativity and expression through craft making. After participating a few times, you may want to volunteer to teach a class too!

Open Studio Sessions
PeaceLove provides the community with a place to paint, socialize, and relax with other creative souls. Participants must be comfortable in an art studio, as no direct instruction will be offered during these sessions. Open studio participants have access to the studio and specified art materials during selected times to work on independent projects. Participants are also welcome to bring their own supplies.
