Meet the Author in Pawtucket, RI at PeaceLove Studios
PeaceLove Studios is pleased to feature author Mary Byrne at 200 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI from 6-8 PM on Thursday, March 4, 2010. The evening will include readings from her new book, a question and answer session with Mary, and book signing. Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be served.
After being treated for Lymphoma, Mary discovered a desire to create a symbol which would represent hope and safety for children. She chose Jake, a loving English Shepherd, to carry the message.
In her book, Mary has endeavored to give children a better understanding of serious illness, race, adoption, disability and abuse, gently and in story-form through Jake. Jake encourages children that are being abused to speak out, and talk to an adult they can trust.
“Only Children Hear Me” is built on the belief that if we can encourage children to talk at a younger age and get them the help they need, they can become their true selves without the pain of abuse affecting every aspect of their lives. Without help the road back can be a longer and more painful journey.
