PeaceLove is dedicated to breaking the "silence" surrounding mental illness with a positive symbol that is focused on creating hope and acceptance for this social injustice. Through the sale of PeaceLove merchandise; we donate 10% of gross profits to support worthy non-profit organizations that work to provide individuals coping with mental illness access to resources, opportunities, and hope. Collectively we strive to provide individuals with the promise of inclusion, integration, productivity, independence and an improved quality of life.
June 2010: PAL
PAL is committed to supporting families, individuals with disabilities and their network of friends in their effort to achieve their own personal dreams and to assume a social role of respect and dignity as valued members of their communities.
PAL works with families and individuals with developmental disabilities to raise their expectations about what is possible in order for individuals to have meaningful things to do during the day and find their valued place in a community of their choosing. In 2009, PAL worked with 85 families on an individual basis and 771 in group settings and workshops.
The mission of NAMI Rhode Island is to educate the public about mental illness; to offer resources and support to all whose lives are touched by mental illness; to advocate at every level to ensure the rights and dignity of those with mental illness; and to promote research in the science and treatment of mental illness.
NAMI Rhode Island is a grassroots, volunteer organization of individuals and organizations who have joined together to improve services for persons who are diagnosed with mental illness.
